Why Choose Our Barge
The Maude Gonne is a 50-foot, wide-beam sailing barge. Siobhan and Niall have beautifully renovated the interior to the highest standard. It is elegant, comfortable and has all you need for an amazing family or romantic getaway. It is the prettiest, comfy boat sailing the canals of Ireland without a doubt!
Our barge is child and dog friendly. Holidays include a comprehensive barge lesson so you can confidently navigate the canaland locks.
No previous boat experience is needed

The boat is suitable for up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids and dogs go free!
We require a minimum 2 adults to navigate the boat as it is quite big!
What Our Barge Offers
Our boats come fully equipped with all you need, a home away from home but without all the distractions of everyday life. It boasts a small but fully functioning kitchen with everything you will need to cater for the full family. Cosy and comfortable and please feel free to bring your dogs.

Hello-myself and Niall, your hosts on The Maude Gonne Barge have been hosting guests since 2016 from every corner of the world.
We have 2 teenage daughters, Charlie and Stella and 2 gorgeous dogs Bob and Esme so understand the challenges finding a great holiday for the whole crew.
We are always a call away and aim to give you the absolute BEST experience on your dreamy holiday through the gorgeous Irish countryside. 😊😍

Such a relaxing weekend totally off grid with no fuss. Siobhan was helpful friendly and accessible. Everything was exactly as described. Boat was comfy, warm and had everything we needed for a chilled weekend. Fishers town Inn a magical wee place and with food delivered directly to the boat from Peking street food - we had everything we wanted for a weekend of time out.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

This boat is so cosy and comfortable. We had a really peaceful and beautiful trip along the canal. Siobhan was so helpful and communicative before the holiday and her recommendations are spot on. The central heating was brilliant! Waking up on a boat on a frosty morning and feeling warm and toasty was amazing! We've already recommended this boat to family and friends!

We had an absolutely amazing time. Would recommend Siobhan’s barge if you’re looking for something really unique and peaceful. Clear directions from Siobhan allow you to drive the barge safely. The barge itself is so warm and cosy. Lots of board games to play. Great utensils in the kitchen, not short of anything. Toilet is very easy to use. Loved our trip!

We stayed on the boat for Christmas and it was the perfect place to get away from everything. It was so peaceful and cozy. The boat is lovely warm even in winter, well equipped and the bed is even more comfortable than ours at home. We stayed with our two dogs and they loved it as much as we did. Siobhan and her husband were great. Super helpful and responsive, even though it was Christmas! And the local pub is definitely worth a visit, even with the dogs! Thanks for everything, siobhan, it was a truly special Christmas!
